Best Fantasy Book Review: Everyone Else Has A System

True to the novel’s title, Everyone Else Has A System in this novel, even the animals. Yet, Zero, the 15-year-old MC, doesn’t have it. Furthermore, he seems to always reject the Systems’ offers to have his unique System. At the same time, he won’t survive the Apocalypse (Cataclysm in this novel) if he doesn’t have any Systems.

Zero’s determination not to play by the rules has to end when Lucia, the person he loves the most, throws him out of a Sky Ship that was carrying other survivors in the Everyone Else Has A System novel. However, Zero doesn’t immediately call upon the System instead, he wishes for a better life on horses!

Of course, since animals don’t speak human languages, the horses can’t answer Zero. Death seems to be the only option for him, even though he still breathes. Will Zero survive while Everyone Else Has A System?

Part 1: Meet The Characters Of Everyone Else Has A System

Zero

Everyone Else Has A System Zero

Zero is the 15-year-old orphan in this novel. I consider him a hard-headed and determined character. It takes longer for the universe to get him to play by the rules, while Everyone Else Has A System. The Sky Ship accident is an occurrence that changes his mind, even though he has to undergo step-by-step repentance.

Lucia

Everyone Else Has A System Lucia

Lucia in Everyone Else Has A System was Zero’s lover until she threw Zero away from the Sky Ship. She may be one of the forgotten characters in Everyone Else Has A System, yet, she becomes Zero’s catalyst for accepting the System while still not losing his true personality essence.

Part 2: Story Of Everyone Else Has A System

Everyone Else Has A System Novel

The story of Everyone Else Has A System begins by telling us that everybody in this novel, including animals, has Systems to protect themselves against threats from the outside. Zero, the 15-year-old orphaned boy, is an exception. He doesn’t have the System, and as a result, he keeps on losing his loved ones.

The Sky Ship becomes the place where Zero starts to consider the System, even if he doesn’t do it immediately. It was because Lucia, Zero’s (then ex) girlfriend, threw him outside the Ship after admitting his defeat against an unknown young man. While he was out from the Ship, Zero was so desperate for anything that he would beg his life for horses.

Of course, since Zero doesn’t have any Systems (and he refuses to have them), he dies shortly afterward. However, the universal System in Everyone Else Has A System is still kind toward him in that the System offers him to have another chance of owning the System. I believe this time is when Zero considers the System.

The System in Everyone Else Has A System may not benefit Zero directly. However, we can see in later chapters that Zero has become a god-like genius thanks to the System.

Part 4: Alternative To Everyone Else Has A System

Similar to Everyone Else Has A System

When we re-read Everyone Else Has A System several times, we will know that the MC of this fantasy novel is a 15-year-old boy. This boy should undergo an adventure in a world where Everyone Else Has A System.

For those of you who are looking for a Dreame novel with similar storylines as Everyone Else Has A System, I would recommend Alex Brim, Hero For Hire. The MC in Dreame’s Alex Brim, Hero For Hire, is also a 15-year-old boy. However, the MC in this Dreame novel plays by the rules; as a result, he starts way stronger than Zero in Everyone Else Has A System.

Summary of Alex Brim, Hero For Hire:

Alex Brim in Hero For Hire is a character persona for a 15-year-old English-Japanese boy named Sakamoto Ryu. Ryu had to double-job to feed himself after his parents’ death. Even though Ryu’s life seems difficult for a 15-year-old boy, he almost always has a magical pendant with him, which makes his life way easier.

It is also from the magical pendant that Ryu can travel to a magical world named Azurath. There, he becomes Alex Brim, a rare Mage Summoner-type hero who can summon different Spirits to help him while he is battling other creatures.

Humans and animals aren’t the only creatures that we will find while we read Dreame’s Alex Brim, Hero For Hire. Instead, we also find other creatures, such as Orcs.
