Part 1: Main story The Alpha’s Curse: The Enemy Within

Main story The Alpha's Curse: The Enemy Within

Tatiana was currently at the high society human party which was boring as usual in the alpha`s curse: the enemy within. It was the same old routine she had seen over the years, the rich coming together to celebrate the most insignificant of societal issues.

She gained nothing from these parties, but as a wealthy woman herself, she needed to maintain social standards. She needed to maintain her social standing, and it wasn’t because she was obsessed with belonging to the upper crust. She didn’t care who was who in society as long as she got what she wanted.

As a vampire, it was nothing new to see humans live and die like roaches when they reached the age of eighty. She wanted to establish herself in the wealthy community because only then would she be able to meet him.

She had been looking for him for years, and while she had always failed to catch his attention, she had promised herself that she would never give up. She’d convinced herself that nothing was more important than finally being worthy in his eyes.

He was the reason she was holding on. Her life was slowly fading away. She was already on the brink of insanity, but Tatiana knew she had to fight to stay. She had lost so much over the years that she had been broken one too many times, but that didn’t matter to her.

Everything she cared about was him, as was typical of the alpha’s curse: the enemy within. All she wanted was a man who would never pay her any attention. Maybe she was cursed to be this way, but maybe she needed to play a different game, which is why she had made it her mission over the centuries to amass a fortune. It was the only way she knew to get to his heart. To her, he was everything.

He was her light, and without him, Tatiana’s life would descend into darkness once more. She hadn’t considered how their first meeting would go, but she was confident it wouldn’t be too bad; after all, she’d seen it all, right? She was perplexed as to how she was supposed to act as if everything was fine.

He stood there like a Greecian God, as alluring as she remembered him last. Everything that hadn’t made sense over the years was finally unfolding. All her effort to attend the hopeless parties through the years finally paid off.

She was in the same room with him, breathing the same air, and she couldn’t be happier. Tatiana knew it was finally her turn to be happy, despite feeling like a fraud for hiding her scent. Her heart skipped a beat as she stared at this man in the dark.

Vampires didn’t have as good night vision as other species, so it was difficult to see his face, but who needed to see his face when she could smell him? His scent always drove her insane, as it was doing right now. She was overjoyed. She had to restrain herself, however, lest they discover she was a vampire.

Chapter 3 of the Alpha's Curse: The Enemy Within

Tatiana wanted to go home to her safe space in chapter 3 of the alpha`s curse: the enemy within. She wanted to be alone and think over what had happened today. She needed to know how she would present herself to her mate before the war escalated. The vampires and werewolves had been at war for so long, and word had it that Alexander Dreykov hated vampires more than he hated betrayal.

He had his reasons, but the fates had paired him with a vampire he didn’t even know about. She had too many thoughts on the way home when she was alone. Tatiana leaned against the taxi window, watching as the skies changed from clear and starry to a darkened noir, the moon hidden.

Rain began to fall soon after, the droplets racing against one another.
