Part 1: Plot Summary of Marry Me Quick
- “I don’t want to marry you for love. I want to marry you for money.” – Lu Yichen
This is the shocking proposal that Su Ziyue receives from Lu Yichen, the young master of the Lu family and the owner of the Lumiere Jade House, a high-end club in Yunzhou City. Su Ziyue is a beautiful and bold woman who arrives at the club to attend a party with her cousin, Su Yige. She accidentally spills her drink on Lu Yichen, who is instantly attracted by her appearance and attitude.
He offers her a contract marriage with a generous compensation, and she agrees, thinking it is a good opportunity to escape from her family’s pressure and debt. However, she soon realizes that Lu Yichen is not an easy man to deal with. He is domineering, possessive, and jealous. He wants her to be his exclusive wife, and he will not tolerate any interference from others. Su Ziyue has to face many challenges and dangers in her marriage with Lu Yichen, as well as the secrets of their pasts.
I chose this book because I was curious about the title and the synopsis, and I wanted to read something different from the usual romance novels.
Part 2: Characterization of the Story of Marry Me Quick
Su Ziyue and Lu Yichen: A Match Made in Heaven or Hell?
Su Ziyue and Lu Yichen are the two main characters of Marry Me Quick, and they are the driving force of the plot and the relationship. Su Ziyue is the female protagonist, who is a beautiful and bold woman, who agrees to marry Lu Yichen for money. She is a very kind and loyal person, who cares for her friends and family, and who tries to help others in need.
She is also a smart and brave person, who can handle difficult and dangerous situations, and who can stand up for herself and her rights. She has a tragic and lonely past, where she lost her parents in a car accident, and where she was abandoned by her relatives and exploited by her creditors. She has a simple and humble goal, which is to live a peaceful and happy life, and to pay off her debts.
Lu Yichen is the male protagonist, who is a handsome and powerful man, who proposes to marry Su Ziyue for money. He is a cold and arrogant person, who does not care for anyone or anything, and who only follows his own rules and desires. He is also a ruthless and cunning person, who can deal with any enemy or obstacle, and who can manipulate and control anyone and anything. He has a mysterious and dark past, where he was born as the illegitimate son of the Lu family, and where he was betrayed and framed by his half-brother, Lu Yihao. He has a complex and ambitious goal, which is to take revenge on the Lu family, and to dominate the city and the underworld.
I have mixed feelings about the characters of Su Ziyue and Lu Yichen. On one hand, I like them, because they are realistic, believable, and multidimensional. They have strengths and weaknesses, flaws and virtues, hopes and fears, which make them human and relatable. They also have a lot of chemistry and tension, which make them interesting and attractive. They complement and contrast each other, as they balance and challenge each other. They also develop and change throughout the book, as they grow and learn from each other, and as they overcome their pasts and their problems.
On the other hand, I dislike them, because they are inconsistent, incoherent, and illogical. They have contradictions and gaps, errors and mistakes, which make them confusing and frustrating. They also have a lot of conflicts and misunderstandings, which make them annoying and irritating. They clash and hurt each other, as they fight and argue with each other. They also stagnate and regress throughout the book, as they repeat and ignore their mistakes, and as they avoid and deny their feelings and their truths.

Part 3: Analyzing the Author’s Construction of Marry Me Quick
Marry Me Quick is set in a contemporary and realistic world, where the characters live in a modern and urban city, Yunzhou. The setting contributes to the mood, tone, and theme of the book, as it creates a contrast between the glamorous and luxurious life of the rich and powerful, and the harsh and cruel reality of the poor and weak. The setting also affects the characters and their actions, as it shapes their personalities, values, and goals. For example, Su Ziyue is a strong and independent woman, who strives to make a living and pay off her debts, while Lu Yichen is a cold and arrogant man, who rules the city and pursues his ambitions.
The book also has a remarkable world-building, where the author creates a fictional and intricate system of the underworld, where the characters are involved in various illegal and dangerous activities, such as gambling, smuggling, and assassination. The world-building enhances the realism, credibility, and originality of the book, as it shows the details and logic of the underworld, and how it operates and influences the society. The world-building also creates conflicts, tensions, and opportunities for the characters and the plot, as it exposes the risks and rewards of the underworld, and how it tests and challenges the characters and their relationship. For example, Su Ziyue has to adapt and survive in the underworld, where she faces threats and enemies, while Lu Yichen has to protect and defend his position and power, where he faces rivals and allies.
The book also compares and contrasts the setting and the world-building with other books in the same genre, or with the real world. The book differs from other books in the genre, as it combines romance with action and suspense, and as it explores the dark and violent side of the underworld, rather than the romantic and idealistic side of the upper world.
Part 4: Conclusions Drawn About Marry Me Quick
Reading Marry Me Quick was a roller-coaster ride of emotions and thoughts for me. I have to admit that I was not expecting much from this book, as I thought it would be another cliché story of a rich man and a poor woman who fall in love despite their differences. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the twists and turns that the author created, and the depth and complexity that the author added to the characters and the plot.
The book made me feel a range of emotions, from curiosity, excitement, and anticipation, to anger, frustration, and sadness. I was curious about the motives and backgrounds of the characters, especially Lu Yichen, who seemed to have a mysterious and dark past. I was excited and anticipated the development of the relationship between Su Ziyue and Lu Yichen, who had a lot of chemistry and tension.
The book also challenged my views and made me think differently about the genre of romance and the concept of marriage. The book showed me that romance is not always about love, but also about money, power, and survival. The book also showed me that marriage is not always about happiness, but also about compromise, sacrifice, and trust. The book made me question the stereotypes and expectations that I had about romance novels, and made me appreciate the diversity and creativity of the genre.
